We worked together
Met Richard in, it must have been, 1995 or 1996 when I first began studying in Bangor. I remember well one occasion when we were listing to a PhD student (it may have been Simon Forster?) practicing a presentation and Richard was quietly nodding giving encouragement. It struck me: this is a nice guy! I’m happy to say we became friends during very happy times at SAFS / BioComposites. We had some memorable evenings, Saija and I in his and Jo’s company. Good times! Unfortunately, we’d not met often since moving to Finland in 2006, but the last time we did meet – at Callum’s place – it was pretty unforgettable…. the Richard Quinney sense of humor was on top form…..!!
